1. Mandatory Documentation:
The following documents are mandatory to rent a vehicle from U Save Rent a Car UAE and must be produced at the counter:
- Valid Passport & Emirates ID
- Valid Driving License issued at least 1 year before the pick-up date
- Valid International Driving License, where applicable, for customers who are on a visit visa
- Credit Card in the name of the renter for security blocking
Important: For customers opting for delivery, the above-mentioned documents should be uploaded at the time of booking creation or emailed to info@usaveuae.com at least two hours prior to the scheduled delivery.
2. Delivery, Extension, Return, and Exchange
- The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours) with a maximum grace period of 29 minutes. In the event of a late return exceeding the grace period, U Save Rent a Car reserves the right to charge an additional daily rate, including fees for any options taken.
- Customers should inform U Save Rent a Car in advance about any required extension of the rental contract. If the vehicle is not returned on the due date and no extension has been notified, the agreement will be renewed automatically, and charges will be debited from the provided credit card.
- The rental agreement remains valid until the vehicle is returned to the agreed drop-off location.
- By accepting the vehicle, the renter confirms it is in the same condition as indicated on the Vehicle Check Report and accepts full liability for any further damage or loss.
- The renter is responsible for returning the vehicle with all documents and accessories (such as the spare tire and toolkit) and in the same condition as received.
- U Save Rent a Car reserves the right to repossess the vehicle if it is used in violation of the agreement or if financial obligations are not met.
- If the vehicle is returned outside of working hours, the renter must follow the out-of-hours return instructions. The renter is fully responsible for the vehicle until it is checked in by U Save Rent a Car.
- If U Save Rent a Car agrees to collect the vehicle from a different location, the renter remains responsible until the vehicle is collected and a document confirming collection is obtained.
- U Save Rent a Car is not liable for any loss or damage to property left in the vehicle.
- If the rented vehicle needs to be replaced (due to service, sale, accident, etc.), the renter must return it upon request. U Save Rent a Car does not guarantee the same vehicle will be returned.
- If the requested vehicle is unavailable, an upgrade may be provided temporarily. Once the originally requested vehicle is available, the renter must return the upgrade. Charges may apply if exchange attempts are unsuccessful.
- Early termination of monthly contracts will result in a higher rate based on the actual days used.
- If the vehicle is not returned on the expected date, dues are not settled, or if the vehicle is used in violation of the rental agreement, U Save Rent a Car reserves the right to:
- Report the vehicle as stolen to the police
- Repossess the vehicle without prior notice
- File a police case for non-payment of dues
- Charge a late fee of 2% on unpaid installments, plus additional costs including recovery fee and damages.
3. Personal Data
The renter authorizes U Save Rent a Car to share personal data with authorities such as police, traffic departments, and other relevant bodies.
4. Rates & Modification
Rates are subject to change if any booking changes are made after reservation confirmation. If the rental period is amended, U Save Rent a Car reserves the right to modify rates accordingly.
5. Conditions of Use
The renter must take care of the vehicle and not use it for:
- Carrying passengers or property for hire without prior written approval (trucks and vans excepted)
- Carrying more passengers than the vehicle’s capacity
- Carrying harmful objects or substances
- Towing any vehicle or object
- Participating in races, tests, or illegal activities
- Off-road driving
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Violating customs or traffic laws
- Allowing unauthorized drivers
- Sub-renting
- Driving outside the UAE without prior approval
- Entering restricted geographical areas
The renter agrees to be liable for any legal consequences, costs, and to indemnify U Save Rent a Car for any losses or damages resulting from a breach of these conditions.
6. Insurance Policy
U Save Rent a Car provides standard insurance under an automobile liability policy. Additional insurance coverage can be purchased. The renter must sign the terms and conditions for extended insurance.
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): The renter accepts liability for losses or damage to the vehicle, limited to the excess liability amount stated in the agreement. A valid police report is required.
- Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): Covers medical costs and accidental death for the renter and passengers during the rental period.
Additional insurance for usage outside the UAE is limited to damage claims and does not cover other expenses.
7. Damage/Loss, Theft, etc.
The renter must pay for any damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle or parts, including fire and glass breakage, if terms and conditions are violated. This includes:
- Damage from contaminated fuel, floodwater, sea beaches, rocky deserts, sand dunes, or off-roading.
- Loss of revenue due to the vehicle being unavailable for rental.
- Reporting accidents, personal injuries, theft, or damage to the police and obtaining a valid police report. Failure to provide a police report voids insurance coverage.
- Assisting U Save Rent a Car and its insurance companies with claims or legal matters.
- Bearing costs for tire and window damage, as they are not covered by insurance.
- Not performing repairs without prior written approval.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by UAE law and the local laws of the Emirate where it is executed. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court.
9. Charges
U Save Rent a Car reserves the right to change policies and rates at any time without notice.
- Monthly rentals have a fixed mileage allowance, with excess mileage charged at AED 0.30 to AED 0.50 per km.
- Salik toll fees and traffic fines will be charged to the renter’s credit card, with a 12% service fee on each violation.
- Additional admin charges apply for extra assistance provided to the customer.
- Valeting charges apply if the vehicle requires specialized cleaning upon return.
- Roadside assistance fees apply for recovery or towing due to renter’s negligence.
10. Payment, Cancellation & No-Show
A credit card in the renter’s name is mandatory for car hire. U Save Rent a Car accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Amex in AED. No cancellation or no-show fee is currently imposed. Bookings can be canceled online or by calling the UAE helpline. Customer credit card details and personal information will not be stored, sold, or shared with third parties.
11. Refund
Refunds for booking cancellations will be processed on the same credit card used for payment within 30 working days. Refunds must be claimed within 30 days from the reservation pick-up date. Other refunds will be processed 30 days after the rental agreement ends, with outstanding charges recovered before processing. No refunds for early returns of prepaid bookings.
12. Indemnity
U Save Rent a Car is not liable for any loss or damage incurred by the renter or third parties, except in cases of fraud or gross negligence. The renter agrees to indemnify U Save Rent a Car from all damages, losses, costs, and claims arising from the renter’s breach of the agreement or driving of the vehicle.
13. Language and Interpretation
These terms and conditions were drafted in English. In the event of a conflict between different languages, the English text shall prevail for interpretation.
14. Guaranteed Make & Model
U Save Rent a Car guarantees make and model on specific car groups. If unavailable, an upgrade will be provided temporarily, with an option to swap to the guaranteed vehicle type once available. Guaranteed vehicle type does not include specific color or optional accessories.
