Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Understanding CDW
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is a crucial component of most rental contracts. It limits the customer’s financial liability for any damage to the rental vehicle, provided the terms and conditions are adhered to during the rental period. Since CDW terms can vary between agreements, customers should familiarize themselves with the specifics before signing. If there are any doubts, customers should ask their U Save Rent a Car representative to explain the CDW terms and conditions.
Liability Exclusions
Your liability for damage or loss of the vehicle will not be reduced if you or an authorized driver are grossly negligent. Examples of gross negligence include, but are not limited to:

- Driving on poorly conditioned roads without due care, resulting in undercarriage damage
- Driving on a beach, causing saltwater or sand damage
- Driving through flooded roads, causing engine damage
- Using the wrong fuel or contaminating the fuel
- Ignoring warning lights leads to damage
- Damage to tires and windscreen
- Burning the clutch or misusing the handbrake
- Damaging the wheel rim by driving with a flat tire
- Fitting unauthorized objects to the vehicle
- Carrying excessively dirty or smelly materials that cause extra cleaning costs or interior damage
- Locking the keys in the vehicle or losing the keys
